occult

took my first real self portraits. I've been admiring some really great self portrait artists lately so I decided impulsively to take these today after school. Its a totally different experience shooting yourself in my opinion and i can't decide how i feel about it but it feels good to do something different. bits and pieces

just little bits and pieces of my life here and there. Looking at old photo's always makes me realize how many photo's I overlook. I think random unplanned and overlooked photos sometimes tell the best stories though

the back of my brothers sandy head in florida. during the first few days I came back from Costa Rica, I was still taking in every ounce of beauty I could find in what seemed at the time like a much more complicated world

summer in the suburbs

I am starting a project that isn't really a project but more of a just a title. I'm putting a title on all the photo's I take over the summer (which is so much my favorite time of year that I actually feel as though it defines me as a person) of my life. I will only be posting pictures that I feel genuinely capture what my summers are all about. Summer is coming early this year, so here is a little preview.

announcement!

Hey everyone! I am very proud to introduce VIVRE magazine!
I know that half of you reading this are rolling your eyes because half the world tries to start their own magazine these days, but thats ok with me. I already have some amazingly talented people on board and I am beyond excited! This will not be a fashion magazine or art magazine just to be clear (although it will of course feature some of both). I will release more details little by little as it progresses. I will soon be releasing it's website and the date the first issue will come out. I cannot promise that will be extremely soon but it will be within the next of months and hopefully before summer!

nashville

So my family and I drove down to Nashville this week since I was off school. It was a terrible 16 hour drive both ways but we stopped along the way and stayed in nasty motels and my mom got drunk and we laughed and made the best of it. It was so so nice to get away from home and forget about school stress but aside from that we really went down so I could go look at Vanderbilt. It's funny because as a New Yorker you think you know a lot about growing up with different cultures and you have a lot of experiences but going to Nashville was like going to a whole new world that I didn't even know existed. It felt like being in another country but it was so exciting and I wanted to eat up every second of it. We stayed in a hotel right off Broadway, which is sort of the times square of Nashville. Definitely not as big but certainly as flashy. We stayed out late and went into bars and listened to every street performer sing or play their instrument. The minute I got there I knew I could see myself living there. Yesterday we went of a tour of Vanderbilt. It has always been one of my top choices for college but after this it is most definitely my number one. I can't even explain how much I loved it. Everything is just perfect for me and what I want and just being there made me feel so hopeful for the future and getting out of my small town. I didn't even know I could fall so in love with a place after only being there a couple of hours. Overall the trip was amazing, gave me a real reason to stay motivated in school (haha) and also gave me an opportunity to take some interesting pictures!
ps. will be posting pictures from my last shoot as soon as I know if I am allowed to!
